I never know what to write for these things. I think one of the hardest things to do is to talk about myself, especially without focusing entirely on my flaws.
But here goes…
Hi! My name is Christina. I am in my mid-30’s. I am a mom of two beautiful children and wife to the love of my life. We live in Eastern Canada, but have moved all around Canada in the last 11 years, before finally settling here. We are a family full of disorders – ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, OCD – but these disorders don’t define us, they are just part of what makes us FABULOUS.
Us, in a nutshell:
- My oldest, Gavin, has the biggest heart of almost anyone I know. If you are hurting, sick, or just need a friend, he is there to lend a hand or just to simply provide a hug. Gavin would live on the computer or Xbox, if we would let him. He loves playing games and browsing, and will spend most of his time explaining things to anyone who will listen as he does. He’s not a fan of going outside, unless particular friends are there to play with him. Gavin also loves to read, especially comics. Some of his favorite things are: Pokemon, Magick The Gathering, Lego, Superheroes, Skylanders, dinkie cars, helping out with dinner, and playing cards & board games. Apart from that, Gavin likes to stay close to the adults in the house so that he doesn’t “miss” anything.
- Chloe is my artist. She sings, drums on anything she can, draws, writes, and just creates things in general day in and day out. Chloe is mature for her age, and sometimes that can be scary. Some days it feels like she’s 9 going on 25! I just want her to stay little for as long as possible (yeah, right, Mom…) because she will be an adult before she knows it. Where Gavin dislikes being outside, Chloe loves it and will often stay out from the time she gets up until she gets called in for dinner. She can usually be found hanging around her “crew” in the yard. She is a natural-born leader but can be a bit on the bossy side without meaning to. When she’s not outside, she’s usually in her room listening to her iPod or reading. Some of Chloe’s interests are: music, writing, reading, drawing, Lego, dolls (especially Monster High & Forever After High), sports, & animals.
- Justin, the love of my life, works in the food industry. When he’s not at work, he can usually be found at home trying to create something, either on paper or using other materials. He is super creative and artistic (most definitely where Chloe gets it from!) but he is also his own worst critic when it comes to the same. He doesn’t really have many hobbies. When he’s home he plays cards, watches TV/movies (especially anything with a horror theme), plays computer/video games, plays Magick The Gathering with Gavin, does maintenance around the house, etc. He does enjoy going for walks and taking lots of pictures, too. He’s all about random shots. He is my best friend. ღ
- Back to me again…ugh. Ok…I love reading, writing, singing, watching TV/movies, playing around online, going for long walks & taking photos on a nice day, crocheting, playing cards & board games, and music, just to name a few things. My creativity comes into play in the kitchen. I love to cook & bake, and I really enjoying trying new things. I like to take a recipe and use it as an inspiration to create my own. I’m always on the lookout for something new to try (especially something that the kids will eat!). I am super emotional and have been known to cry when happy, sad, angry, and/or frustrated; not to mention, when watching TV/movies, reading, watching a video on Facebook, and just about any other time you can think of. Just call me a drippy faucet.
As a family, we are very tight and have established several traditions over the years, including: 31 days of Halloween movies, 25 days of Christmas movies, seasonal bucket lists, and more! We love Christmas, but Halloween is our holiday and much of our home is decorated as such year round. We definitely dance to the beat of our own drum. It’s never a dull moment around here!
Now that I’ve introduced us all, I guess it’s time to tell you a little about my blog…
I am one of the ones in our family with ADHD; I also have OCD, Depression, and Anxiety. What does that mean? Well organization, budgeting, cleaning, and so much more are a major struggle for me. I have decided that I have had enough of my bad habits and I want to try and use a blog to help keep me on track and maybe someone else will be able to learn from my mistakes at the same time.
Some of what you can expect to see when you visit:
- meal planning
- healthy living
- mental health
- …and more!
I told you I was horrible at writing these things!
Anyway, thanks for stopping by. I hope you like what you see and feel free to leave me a message any time. Or check me out using the social media icons at the top of the page.
Blessings, to you and yours,
